University Hospitals is the largest health care network in northeast Ohio with health centers located in eight counties. In the summer of 2018 UH opened the new Rainbow Center for Women and Children in the Midtown neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.
The new 40,000 SF, 3-story health center was constructed for approximately $26 M and is located at the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 59th Street. The location of the facility was selected to provide easy access from visitors, whom primarily use public transportation. The location was also selected as a continued commitment to the City’s Health-Tech Corridor planned for the 3-mile stretch connecting downtown to the University Circle.
The LEED certified building is clad with HDHP concrete panels, metal panels, glass curtain wall and punched window openings.
