2023 AIA Cleveland Merit Award Winner for Additions, Renovations and Restorations, The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County opened in 1910. The historic building underwent extensive remodeling in 1954, followed by a major renovation and expansion in 1996. The project involved renovating the multi-floor building.
The project involved renovating the multi-floor building. The 4,000 GSF addition accommodates children’s services, programming, a culinary literacy center, work force development training and interactive learning programs. The estimated budget for this project was $27 M.
