The LeBron James Family Foundation has worked diligently for years to expand and help children and families across the Akron community. Their latest venture is the I PROMISE Housing development. Located on the corner of South Maple and Cedar Street, just 0.5 miles from the I PROMISE School, the new housing complex was built to help with Akron’s on going housing instability for children and families.
B&H led the structural engineering design and consultation of the new 71,000 SF building, including 50 units of affordable housing for I PROMISE families featuring two, three, and four-bedroom apartments. Amenities include a fitness, community, and bicycle storage room. Residents also have access to a Family Resource Center including medical and mental healthcare, education/career advancement training, financial literacy programs and jobs and family services.
