The City of Bridgeport, WV has developed a new 155,000 GSF multi-use indoor sports building within the City’s recreation complex. The facility expands the existing 27-acre complex which includes outdoor playing fields, walking trails, and amphitheater. The facility will be comprised of a gymnasium, field house, and natatorium with two-story connecting spaces between them. Other specific information includes a field house with a 60-yard turf field, a two-pool natatorium with seating, a gymnasium with elevated running track, a fitness center, climbing wall area, tenant space, and a cafeteria. The gymnasium has wood floors to accommodate nine basketball or volleyball courts.
The facility structure includes perimeter insulated precast concrete bearing walls supporting long-span roof structures. The gymnasium, natatorium, and entrance areas include large curtain wall areas to accommodate extensive natural lighting.
